Rewarding Retail Employees | FlexGenius

Workers have gone that extra mile many times over the past several months.

Retail employees have been tested to the limit as they continue to work hard to keep the nation fed, stocked up, and happy. Store staff, distribution, and customer care teams have had a challenging year. We look at how retail brands are rewarding their employees.

We’re sure you will agree that everybody deserves to feel rewarded and recognised for all their hard work, especially now with the holiday season fast upon us. As 2020 is drawing to a close, let’s celebrate some retail businesses going the extra mile for their people.

Wickes – extra holiday time

Wickes is rewarding their employees who have worked so hard during the pandemic with extra paid holiday this December. The retailer is also closing many stores over the holidays to give employees more time to rest and recharge. Employees can also look forward to seasonal gift cards and vouchers.

Gamestop – TikTok rewards game

Gamestop has launched a fun interactive game on TikTok with rewards for their employees. Team members who put their dancing shoes on can win extra hours to use during Black Friday week and a chance of bagging additional prizes and gift cards.

Tesco – 10% bonus payment

Tesco is going a long way to ensure its store, distribution, and customer teams feel appreciated for their hard work. The supermarket is rewarding employees in December with a 10% bonus for hours worked over Christmas and New Year.

It is not their first reward and recognition scheme. Tesco has been working hard to ensure their people feel valued throughout the crisis. Bonuses paid to staff in March and May, including the 20% staff discount across stores is set to continue. Aldi and Sainsburys are also offering staff 10% ‘thank you’ bonus payments.

Home Bargains – two weeks’ extra pay

Home Bargains is giving staff two weeks’ extra pay to thank them for their work during very challenging times. The retailer will close stores at 5pm on Christmas Eve and closed on Boxing day to encourage workers to enjoy a longer festive period with their loved ones.

It’s a big thank you from us too

These are just some of the retail brands going above and beyond for their employees this year. Thank you to every employee who has gone the extra mile this year to keep us all fed, made sure shelves are stocked, and orders are fulfilled. Enjoy your rewards. You deserve it.
